Q: How long are the ATV Tours?
A: 2 hours of riding the ATV on the trails. The guide will begin the trip with a stop at the local convenience store to allow for the purchase of drinks, snacks, ice, etc. This will also provide a chance to use the restroom or handle any pre-trip needs. Please feel free to bring a small cooler with beverages and snacks, but no alcoholic beverages. Guest are responsible for securing your trash before leaving your ride.
Q: Who can operate the ATV?
A: In order to operate the ATV you must be a licensed driver in the United States at least 16 years old and provide a copy of the valid license at the time of check in. A signed waiver is also required. Multiple drivers can be designated for each ATV, but this must be done at the time of check in.
Q: What are the age restrictions?
A: The minimum age to participate in the tours is 3 years old. All passengers under 16 must wear a helmet, which will be provided. Please bring a booster seat if your child needs a booster. We have some available , but cannot guarantee enough for every ride.
Q: How many can ride in one ATV?
A: We operate all Honda Pioneer 1000 ATV’s. All units fit either 3 or 5 passengers.
Q: What are the safety requirements?
A: All riders are required to wear a seat belts at all times. DOT approved Helmets are encouraged for all ages, but required for all riders under 16 and will be provided. Safety glasses or goggles as well as dust masks/gators are encouraged and are available for purchase at check in if needed.
Q: Can we ride for longer than 2 hours?
A: Yes! All of our rides are booked in 2 hour blocks. If you plan to ride longer an additional trip can be reserved at the time of booking. There will be approximately a 30 minute break between the rides. If you do not book the extra time ahead, and there is availability in the next trip you’re welcome to sign up for more fun!

Q: Should we Tip the Guide?
A: Absolutely, if you enjoyed your ride! Gratuities are not required, but are much appreciated. Guides are well compensated by ATV Excursions LLC, but 100% of all tips go directly to your Guide!
Q: What about weather?
A: The rides go rain, snow or shine! The trails bring an exciting ride in all weather conditions. Exceptions are made in situations of extreme/severe weather and are taken on a case by case basis. If the weather is looking bad, feel free to call ahead to confirm the status of your trip!
Q: Will I get dirty?
A: This is pretty much up to you! In dry conditions it is guaranteed that you will get dusty, but most of the time, the trails offer a good mix of dry and wet conditions. If its wet, you can get as muddy as you (or your driver) want to!
Q: Do I need to be an experienced rider?
A: Experience is always helpful, but its not required! The ATV’s are very simple to operate and offer all the factory installed safety equipment. The trails offer a mix of terrains and the guides are there to ensure everyone has an unforgettable trip, but in a safe way! No one will be forced into something that is beyond their capability, or even close to the limits of the machine! The tours really are designed to be fun for all and offer a unique way to experience the beauty of Fairfield Bay!
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes! We offer discounts for U.S. Military Veterans, Active Duty, First Responders and Fairfield Bay Residents. Simply present your ID at the time of check in to have the discount applied.
Q: What to wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dusty , muddy or wet. Closed toe shoes are preferred. Sunglasses or safety goggles will help with the dust and mud. Sunscreen, glasses and dust mask are available for purchase at check in.
Q: What time to arrive?
A: Plan to arrive 20 minutes prior to your ride time to complete paperwork and get everything settled into your buggy before the start of the ride.
Q: What about cancellations?
A: A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your booking , with the option of paying in full.
Customers will receive a refund (minus the deposit) or credit with 72 hour notice of cancellation. No refunds for cancellations with less than 72 hour notice. Customers will receive a full refund or credit in case of outfitter cancellations due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Please contact of by phone to cancel.
